The Big Money Game
A framework for understanding the games people choose when they want to create significant economic value.
Most career advice starts with a job title, a skill or an industry. I find it more useful to start one level above: what economic game are you actually playing?
The Big Money Game is a working framework for thinking about markets, value creation, distribution, ownership and leverage. It asks what a person sells, to whom, through what vehicle, and where they sit in the value chain.
The questions
- What market has enough economic value?
- What painful problem can you solve?
- Who has the money and authority to buy?
- How is value delivered?
- What part of the value can you capture?
- What leverage can compound over time?
This is a living framework. I expect the model to change as I test it against real businesses and real people.
