From Employee to Owner

What changes when the objective moves from earning a salary to building an asset?

Employment is not the enemy. It is one economic arrangement among many. The useful question is whether the arrangement is moving you toward the game you ultimately want to play.

Ownership introduces different variables: distribution, pricing power, systems, capital, intellectual property, brand and equity. It also introduces different risks.

I’m documenting the transition rather than pretending I already know the answer.
